When’s the last time you’ve read or heard in the news of a death of a Hollywood star from overdosing on anti-anxiety or antidepressants? In actual fact, prescription medication causes tens of thousands of deaths annually. Cause of deaths are often linked to over-dosage or abuse.

Anti-anxiety medication although sometimes effective at reducing Anxiety symptoms, fails to address the real cause of anxiety. People also worry of the possible side effects of medication and that they may become addicted. Like with most drugs, medication is no different in that it should be taken with care and not to be abused.

Learning How to halt a panic attack is all about being prepared and being aware of the first signs of attack. Embarrassment, fear and stress are frequent reasons for an anxiety attack. In some cases they have the ability to be absolutely out of the blue, like in cases of panic disorder. Is there a reason for these attacks and can they be stopped?

Attacks have been linked mostly to anxiety disorders which is the umbrella term for specific disorders like agoraphobia and social anxiety.
